وتبدأ مصر فترة تاريخية جديدة هي الدولة الحديثة أو عصر الامبراطورية ، وتصبح طيبة عاصمة مصر والامبراطورية ، وتنطلق منها الجيوش وتقام الحاميات والمعسكرات للجند في شرق البلاد وغربها وجنوبها ، وتزدهر صناعة السلاح والمعدات الحربية ويزداد الجندي المصري خبرة ،ومهارة ،وهكذا بدأت مصر أعظم فترة عسكرية في تاريخها وأصبح لمصر جيش واحد ، حتي صار هذا العصر ذا طابع عسكري. واية ذلك أن جدران المعابد وغيرها تزخر بأخبار انتصارات الجيش المصري وفتوحاته هنا وهناك ، كما كان ملوك مصر يقدمون الاوسمة والنياشين للقادة العسكريين ، فنجد الملك أحمس الاول يمنح القائد أحمس بن ابانا ــ نوط ذهب الشجاعة خمس دفعات تقديرا لبسالته في المعارك وهي مسجلة علي مقبرته من خلال سيرته الذاتية علي الجدران ، ووضعت الخطط للجيوش في معاركها حسب نوعية العدو وعدد افراد جيشه وطبيعة الارض وموقع المعركة . لقد كانت الدولة الحديثة علي نقيض من سائر العصور الاخري للتاريخ المصري القديم ، اذ تميزت في هذا العصر بأنها ذات طابع حربي وأصبحت ملامح الجيش المصري واضحة فالسرايا والفرق محددة العدة...

واذا ما انتقلنا الي الدولة الوسطي فاننا نجد لكل حاكم اقليم جيشه الصغير الذي يدافع به عن اقليمه ورغم ان الدولة الوسطي قد شهدت بعض الاحداث العسكرية ، فأن اهمها تلك المعركة التي خاضها الملك سنوسرت الثالث أحد اشهر العسكريين في تاريخ مصر القديمة ، ضد بلاد النوبة ، وهي المعركة التي خلد ذكراها علي لوحة عند منطقة سمنة الواقعة جنوب الجندل الثاني . وتمردت بلاد النوبة مرة اخري فتوجه الملك سنوسرت الثالث بنفسه علي رأس جيشه أكثر من مرة للحرب وذكر ذلك في لوحة سمنة وغيرها من النصوص التي تركها هناك منها قوله انه برئ من أي ابن يأتي من بعده ولا يحافظ علي حدود مصر عند الجندل الثاني ولما وصلت مصر الي هذه المرحلة من الاحتكاك عسكريا بجيرانها كان لابد من اقامة الحصون والاستحكامات والاسوار علي حدود مصر الشرقية والغربية وكانت هذه الحصون تعرف بأسم اسوار الحاكم .

لم تعرف مصر في البدايات الاولي من تاريخها تكوين جيش نظامي موحد للدولة بأكملها ، بل اكتفي حكام الاقاليم بتكوين فرق خاصة لهم مدربة ومجهزة بالاسلحة والعتاد ، ليدافعوا عن اقاليمهم وخصوصا تلك الواقعة علي حدود مصر ، وكانت هذا الفرق تستخدم ايضا في فترات الصراع الداخلي بين حكام الاقاليم الذين يسعي كل منهم لكسب المزيد من الاراضي لتضاف لاقليمه أو لتحقيق طموحاته في كسب المزيد من السلطة والسلطان ، الي جانب فرقة أو اكثر تدافع عن عاصمة البلاد .

المصريون إذا ساسهم غيرهم كانوا أذلاء، والغالب عليهم الجبن" عبارة المؤرخ المقريزي التي رفضها أستاذ التاريخ د. علي بركات خلال مؤتمر المجلس الأعلى للثقافة حول ثورات المصريين الخميس. وأضاف بركات أننا يجب أن نرفض كذلك ما قاله المؤرخ الجبرتي عن الفلاح المصري بأنه مع المحتسب أذل من العبد المشترى!، لم تقتصر هذه النظرة السلبية في كتابات المؤرخين القدامى، بل امتدت لتشمل علماء الاجتماع المحدثين الذين يدينون الشخصية المصرية، ويصفونها بالخضوع. ولم تختلف كتابات المؤرخين المصريين المتأثرين بالفكر الماركسي المتابعين بشكل جيد لثورات الشعب المصري، حيث تصف كتاباتهم تلك الثورات أنها لا تحقق النتيجة المرجوة، فأحمد صادق سعد على سبيل المثال يقول أن انتفاضات المصريين في العصر الأيوبي لم تستطع أن تعيدلم تستطع أن تعيد الحكم الفاطمي إلى مصر. والمؤرخ جمال حمدان في كتابه "شخصية مصر" يكاد يصل إلى حد الإدانة للشعب المصري، حين يقول أن ثورات المصريين لن تزد عن كونها مجرد هبات وهوجات وتمردات عاجزة وفاشلة، ولذلك يقرر بركات أننا بحاجة ماسة لتغيير تلك المفاهيم. ثورة البشمور كانت ورقتها تحت عنوان ...

Archaeologist William Saturno scrapes ancient debris from a scribe's painting-filled, roughly 1,200-year-old home in Guatemala. Calculations on the walls refer to dates after December 21, 2012—which has been erroneouslycalled the Maya doomsday—as well as the first known Maya house art, according to a new study. In the last known largely unexcavated Maya megacity, archaeologists have uncovered the only known mural adorning an ancient Maya house, a new study says — and it's not just any mural In addition to a still vibrant scene of a king and his retinue, the walls are rife with calculations that helped ancient scribes track vast amounts of time.
